A futuristic medical scene that's heartwarming, rather than sterile. Like many of my pieces, this one has it's roots in roleplaying games. Jedi Master Dantris Solomani is one of my favorite non-player characters, and might even get a cameo--he's already got a mention--in a friend's campaign. Master Dani is a talented Jedi Healer who generally leaves the lightsaber mayhem to his friends--and is there to patch them up afterwards. But he really has a soft spot for injured or ill youngsters of any species. A colony planet has some puzzling cases, and the local doctors & medical droids have called the Healer in for a consult, hoping his aid will prevent a full-blown epidemic. Reassuring small patients is just as important to Dani. Here he gains a youngster's trust, by playing with the boy & his favorite stuffed toy. Sitting beside him on the exam table, Dani uses a little of the Force to make the toy come alive and fly. (That's why the Faery Dragon is left in the stiff default pose--it's an object. Except of course to it's tiny owner.) I took a lot of time on this one, and played with the colors of some items in DAZ's Materials room. In the finished scene, you mostly see this in Dantris' Jedi vestments, which are a mixture of Vadlor's Galactic Guardian textures & my own colors. However, "offstage" in the render, is a "regular" doctor, played by PhilC's Nvarra Wren character, with clothing & props changed out. After all the work I put into changing out so much & recoloring some of the clothing, I decided that I liked the scene better with just the Jedi & the little boy. But it's not a waste, I got quite a bit of practice working with that character. Plus I still have the entire scene saved in DAZ, so it's there if I want it for another project.
