Description

As you probably know, Athena was the goddess of wisdom for the ancient Greeks. She was also goddess of war, favoring discipline, strategy, efficiency and all virtues a warrior can have, in contrast with her bloodthirsty brother Aris, the famous Greek god of war, who favoured brutality and violence in the battlefield. She gave her name to the city of Athens (the modern Greek capital), by winning Poseidon, the god of the sea, in a competition of who 's gonna give the most useful gift to the city's people. The myth says Athena stroke her spear at the rocks of Acropolis and an olive tree grow up for the first time ever... ------------------------------------------------- Sorry for the short lesson people, i actually have promised creating this picture to my little daughter...She wants to learn everything i know about goddess Athena, so i decided to do something for this, except teaching & storytelling.
