Description

Johnathan Harker is to meet the Count's personal coach on the far side of the Tihuţa Pass at or just after sunset of this day. High in the Bârgău mountains, this rare, slithering, walkable quirk of geography is Bistriţa's soul link to Harker's modern world. No coaches or carts can venture here. Very little ventures here. Harker wonder's when it was that the last living soul might have scurried amongst the boulders of this dark, barren and forbidding place. Life seems to recoil from it just as much as the air. And so do the routes of neighbouring Bukovina. They make no entrance and deflect away from Dracula's realm. Commerce commits the crime of expense to skirt these fences rather than trust the roads of Transylvania. They shun this place, they fear to go in. They even fear for Johnathan Harker. And they fear the darkness that may emerge should what binds the fortress of Carpathia to the earth, the Borgo Pass, become anything more than tenuous beyond all consideration.
Thank you all for taking a look at this, my second Vue rendering. This time I created my own landscape and atmosphere instead of borrowing a setting. I was also successful in importing a Poser character with props into the Vue programme to render as part of the scene. All this, without crashing my computer. I hope everyone is getting ready for Halloween this coming Sunday. I should have one more holiday rendering ready for you all by then. Cheers!

You did a great job on this one Clayton, it is such a dramatic looking scene. The landscape and atmosphere you created are superb and make this one for the ages. Nancy said it best above about how you can almost feel the man as he struggles to get over the mountains.

you're taking to Vue like a duck to water, or (since it's Halloween and all), a succubus to a wet dream; fantastic job and a very cool reference to a classic!

I'm thinking this is a risky journey for J Harker. I'm sure we all wish him well. Outstanding scene and superb lighting. Well done.

Great story telling, beautifully written. "Commerce commits the crime of expense to skirt these fences"... what a beautiful illiteration that clearly defines the scene. Image itself is foreboading, the clouds make it look volcanic which was not the case in this part of the Carpathians, still makes for a wicked looking scene. There is certainly an "Oh S***, what have I gotten myself into?" feel.
