Great work, lighting and materials are superb :) An idea (which I had in mind but never tried out), is to duplicate the object which shall become wet, give it a water mat, make it SLIGHTLY larger (got to play with that, maybe just +0.5 or less) and use bolean substraction of some parts to make it look more realistic... just an idea, I have to verify it for myself if it works ;)
