Description

This scene was captured near St Just in Roseland in Cornwall, UK. To the left can be seen 'The Field' which is the group of horses and riders that pursue the hounds after a 'find'. The group to the right consists of the Master, some of his 'whips' and a few hounds. The rest of the hounds will be in the rough patch in the valley hunting out a fox. Fox hunting in the UK is now illegal so i'm not sure how they get away with it. This was captured a couple of years ago.

I did some pretty far out things when I was sixteen, but the one I am still most proud of is the anti hunt forays I was a part of. I found out that it takes very little to confuse hounds and make them forget entirely the chase and I also got very fit! I'm also happy to say we saved many foxes. The unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible! Wasn't that how dear old Oscar Wilde described the hunt? Beautiful landscape Jeff. ^=^

Amazing sight. I wondered about modern day fox hunts. I tried so hard to get a good view of the hounds but they are so far away. I'd love to see these working dogs up closer. Stellar shot.

I just don't see anything sporting about a bunch of people on horseback with guns and a bunch of hunting dogs going after a Fox. Now just two drunk people on foot with guns and a hunting dog going after a Cougar. Now that's sporting! ;D Great capture!
