Description

Another shot from my day at Cataloochee Valley, in North Carolina. Thank you all for your wonderful comments and questions, on my post yesterday. Me and my son saw over 50 elk that day, one field we came across had 3 bulls there alone, which I am not sure how rare of a sight that is but it was quite incredible to me, they are amazing animals to watch, I found my self quietly observing them more than photographing them. My son and a friend of his and my daughter Erin went back the next day, they left before sunrise, and they only saw 6 elk the whole day, what a difference, they also saw a lot of white tail deer. And I had left a camera all ready battery charged and all in its bag by the door for my daughter and she forgot it, LOL I need to teach her how to be prepared. But they still had a fun outing. Thanks again for your support. Are any of you members at Redbubble, they sure messed that site up last night. Some very unhappy members there including me, they decided to completely change their whole lay out, imagine opening up Renderosity and finding it looking and being completely different that is what they did, I hope Renderosity never does the same, to me if you have a good thing you leave it alone. Well sorry had to rant a bit. Not a happy girl right now. haha To read more about this click here. thumb_2126361.jpg

First of all, I'm not a participant in Redbubble, and second of all, how can anyone forget their camera, although my brother does it all the time. In any event, a fine portrait of the proud elk, as it poses graciously for you in this shot, Lynell.

Judging by the antlers, a young one or female. Probably trying to decide if you are a threat. Marvelous capture, surprised you were able to get so close. As for the camera, do what I do. Tape a sign to the front door near the handle. Something like "Don't forget the camera!" Works every time.

Lovely portrait Lynell. I saw some elk on a holiday (vacation) to Canada a few years ago and was surprised by how large they are.

I love your capture but I don't go into Red Bubble these days at all. I hope they don't change RR as I like it how it is though they are going to change the home pages I think.
