Description

Here is the second version of the image I posted yesterday. This scene started in Poser, as a strictly Poser scene, but I decided to try it in Vue too. I used a slightly different angle and different lighting, ended up liking both of them, so I apologize, but I just had to post them! Happy Halloween and thanks for stopping by!

Of the two..I'd say this is the Vue version due to the glass once again.

You are exactly right, this is the Vue version. It was an interesting lesson in strengths and weaknesses of Poser vs. Vue.

I like more the Poser Version - it looks like better ( the Light ) but it´s very inetresting to see the same scene in Vue

I like Vue version better in terms of lighting and realism, the only thing I like better in Poser than Vue is the lady. Her skin color is more real on your Poser than Vue. She is too greenish in Vue.

great lighting and detail - just the girls skin texture seems a little off color.

Love them both but I agree with Kindredsoul about the green skin tones on this one. Of the two I prefer yesterday's version because of mainly the superb lighting.

Difficult to choose! The Poser version has much more natural colours for the figures, but the lighting isn't good (the shadows look weird). Looking carefully I prefer the Poser version, but with the proper adjustments the Vue version would be the better, my guess is. Suggestions for this one: Examine the textures - Poser tends to "carry over" some colour blending/masking. Remove that and see, what you can do then to get the full out of the materials: Some anisotropic higlighting on the clothing, subtle bumps (maybe just based on the colour map). If you've used IBL /HDRI, as I suspect you have in both images, in Vue change the skydome colour to a warmer hue - could make a LOT of difference - and use a subtle fill-in spotlight to produce specular highlights. The wide-angle camera setting produces some lens aberration in the Vue version, particularly visible in the "distorted" objects to the left. If you have Infinite, this can be corrected in the camera settings, I believe. Otherwise, use a lesser wide-angle setting (could mean a lot of tweaking to the composition, I'm afraid G) Nice work on both renders, of course. - Lars

Like also the Vue version, it´s more mysterious! The Lady is better in Poser. Fantastic two works!!!

This one is great too! I prefer the first, cause skin colors are most appropriate. But the second has a better ambiance, as previously said. Quite a great work on both of them!

I love the mood of this: it's dark and there's a sense of mystery, but it's not brooding in the wrong way, or murky...just...atmospheric. That works perfectly and it heightens the sense of drama this image naturally possesses. I love the poses the lighting, the sense of action-interrupted as if she's turning to speak, or simply throwing a comment, command, request, plea over here shoulder, while the cat is thinking, as all cats do..."Oh, a new toy," at it takes a swipe at what has drawn its attention. Yeah, I like this a lot. It's a marvelous effort and quite delicious. Nice textures too! And nice colors. There's a story in here, begging to be written/told.

On the technical side, I prefer this version, maybe because of the general mood and the delicate lights. About the "alien skin" issue, I had the same the first time I imported Victoria 4 with her default skin in Vue. It comes from the diffuse color of the map itself. It looks natural when you render the character in Poser, but as Vue doesn't use the same shader tree, Victoria turns green! You can easily correct tthat in the Vue material editor. In any case, it's a very beautiful scene, in Poser and in Vue!
