Description

It is not commonly known (because I just made it up) that Aladdin’s Lamp existed in two sections. It is not just a piece of shoddy brass found in an antique store. The Seeker after the magic Genie must acquire both sections in order for the lamp to summon the Djin. And summoning the Djin, it is not a matter of just rubbing the thing. The pack camel in the caravan could do that during transport. And let’s face it, what has a camel to wish for (I mean, I have ridden camels for days on end in Africa and my only wish for the camel was a smoother gait). I mean, talk about a pain in the… ahem! Where was I? Oh, yes Aladdin. And the other thing about camels is the smell! I mean, puleeeeaaaze! So you can’t just rub the thing. No, no, no! Both halves of the lamp must be brought into perfect alignment to summon the Djin. Once you have done that, you have three wishes. And before you start getting creative, none of the three wishes can be for another thousand wishes. Ask for another thousand wishes and the Djin will scoff. You have no concept of humiliation until you have been scoffed at by a Djin! So. Three wishes. This is the tricky part. Customarily, the first wish is for untold wealth. This usually lands the hapless seeker in total isolation on a diamond planet. The remaining wishes then relate to getting back, unscathed, to the home world. So here is the conundrum. What will be your first wish? Peace on earth won’t do it. You will wind up with a barren planet. A wish to live 5,000 years won’t work. You will wind up as a bristle cone pine on a windy ridge. My first wish would be for wisdom. That would provide me with the ability to deal with the consequences down the line and would provide guidance concerning the next two wishes. And that guidance would probably be “quit while you are ahead” What would your first wish be? Created in Ultra Fractal

Wow Stan! Your fractal is spectacular. I love this one. The story is great too, it shows a wonderfully creative side of you. As far as what my first wish would be, i guess i would need to seriously think about it for a while. Seems everything i think up could be ruined by a spiteful genie (Djin). Reminds me of a few different jokes i've heard thru the years, but very few would be suitable for mixed audiences. Oh all right, just one. A man in a bar meets a genie who grants him just 1 wish. He tells the genie he wishes to have a 12 inch penis. That is when he discovered the genie is hard of hearing. POOF.... after the smoked cleared, there stood a 1 foot tall guy dressed in a tux standing next to a piano. Sorry i know its corny but that was the only one i can remember that is not too dirty.

I love your Aladdins lamp and the great story to go with it. I think you have chosen your first wish very well and if this ever happened that I came upon a lamp like this I would take your wise words and come up with an answer.
