Description
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), or ‘winter depression’ causes mood changes leaving sufferers experiencing symptoms which may include -fatigue, sleep problems, depression and mood change. Symptoms may start emerging between September and November and continue until March, April or even May.
...for some people the feelings of lethargy and depression are so severe that they struggle to function normally in their everyday lives, making it difficult to maintain relationships or hold down a steady job which in turn can lead to emotional and financial difficulties that enhance the individual’s feelings of hopelessness and despair.
Atumns Monologue
Oh why can't I be what you need?
A new improved version of me
But I'm nothing so good
No, I'm nothing
The Fiction We Live
You might be just what I need
No I would not change a thing
Been dreaming of this so long
But we only exist in this song

ok I did suffer from that for a couple years.. specially after moving from California to Oklahoma.. I found a great cure (at least for me) join a gym.. and use the tanning beds after your work out.. I do that 3 times a week and I dont get depressed even while now living in Minnesota.. brrrr god it was 24 degrees out this morning.. and its just starting.. anyway.. the workout gives you the excersize.. and the tanning gives you the light your body craves.. it may not be a cure all or even work for everyone but it really did wonders for me

My heart goes out to you who suffer this dreadful condition, I can understand to a certain degree, because my illness called Fibromyalgia offers actually fatigue and depression as just two of the many symptoms. I wish you well and hope that you will find a cure one day. In the meantime lose yourself in your art, it will help you get by during the winter months, or at least I really hope it does help you. I don't know where I would be or what state I would be in if it were not for my art and my story tellings, and most of all my friends here on Rendo. hugs Jane xx

I'd never heard of this disorder, but it does make a certain amount of sense. I knew that there had always been a correlation between the holiday season and increased stress, and that was a cause for depression, but that there was a clinical name for the condition and that it was being treated as such is pretty interesting. I'm sure that a large percentage of the population can be diagnosed as being affected by this, myself included. [trakendm]s recommendation of exercise and occasional sunlight seems a wise move, regardless of the condition. As for your picture, I like the subdued lighting on this one, it gives your picture a more intimate feel. Excellent work!
