Description

A dragonfly resting on a large butterbur leaf... - From personal experience I know that it is extremely difficult to catch dragonflies on photos, they are restless and very quick. Virtual ones are easier to control :) Mainly a technical exercise with iridescent highlight (the dragonfly's wings). The effect is probably a bit overdone to be strictly realistic, but I like it this way :) The leaves on the butterburs are modeled as terrains in Vue. Dragonfly from Content Paradise. Vue 8.4 render, incl. the DOF. Levels correction, framing & signature with Photoshop. Thanks for viewing, comments etc. welcome and appreciated. Have a nice sunday - Lars *COMMENT UPDATE* The highlight effect is driven by a function, based on a custom "Rainbow Iridescence" colour node.

Exceptional! I am also impressed with the idea also of modeling leaves from terrains and idea forgotten (by me) from Bryce days. I just love this picture.
