Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I've only time for 2 images per, today, so I'm going back to one I haven't commented on yet---which is no reflection on your 2 most recent ones, equally worthy of my attention, believe me. I liked this photo for several reasons: One the clarity of the facade even though it's in shadow. (Clarity is one of your talents, for sure.) Two, the bluish highlights on the facade---in the water spouts, window trim, etc. Very nice highlights. Three, the symmetry, of course, which you captured without the tyranny of symmetry (ie, it's natural and imposing to look at). Four, the imposing & ghostly presence of the facade, because of its shadow but also because of its looming into so much of the frame. And Five, that wonderful sun, mostly unseen but present, through its uncanny way of flaring out from behind things. And you got its reflections on & behind the grill atop, so we see its effects. The sky refuses to cede any of its rich blue to the sun. And the whole is almost minimalistic, and therefore, to me, all the more imposing. You do really good architectural captures, Bill, and it's always exciting to see what aspects you'll bring out next. In this, it's the mystery and looming presence of a facade, and the way the sun plays off of it (from behind). (That old mansard roof really adds a touch of the 'stately' to it as well.) Fine shot, Bill, and glad you let the sun have a say. It's great peeking from behind a tower...

Everything 'anahata' said and more ... Now if this pic would have been a bit darker - all in all - I like to add, that this courthouse building has something very uncanny and familiar about it, and it's reminiscent of the Movie: 'Psycho', (try squinting and you will see what I mean) the Norman Bates manor. well done, BB
