Orchids (2) are numerous in Costa Rica Orchids you can find easily in the Costa Rican rain forest, but the real beauties you find in Botanic gardens Photo taken in the Lankester garden Garden in the central part of Costa Rica, less than 75 miles away from the capital San Jose. Altitude approx. or a little less than one mile high!! Costa Rica lies squarely in the tropics, at a crossroads connecting North and South America. This "rich coast" country, is bordered to the east by the warm Caribbean, and the Atlantic Ocean, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean.
