Description
UFO is a cult British television science fiction series created by Gerry Anderson and Sylvia Anderson. UFO (26 episodes) first aired in the UK and Canada in 1970 and in US syndication over the next two years.
The show's basic premise is that in the near future, Earth is being visited and attacked by aliens from a dying planet and humans are being covertly harvested for their organs by the aliens.
To defend against the aliens, a secret organisation called SHADO (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation) is established. Operating behind the cover of the Harlington-Straker Studios movie studio in England, SHADO is headed by Commander Ed Straker (played by Ed Bishop), who poses as the studio's chief executive.
Here is a tribute to the show and to Ed Bishop (June 11, 1932 - June 8, 2005) who played Commander Straker in the series.

Nicely done and a great send-up to the show.

Not bad at all, I remember the show well. It was cut from a different mold than many sci-fi's of the era. Straker himself was a clearly tormented man who had lost much (family, friends and the life of his young son) for the cause of SHADO. In the end, we were asked, was it worth it?

I'd seen a couple of the shows when I was a kid, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out, but those previews of "Skyline" look pretty impressive, too. Hope "UFO" will have the special effects to compete.

I remember watching this show as a kid growing up in England,in fact it was the first show I was allowed to stay up late to watch...loved the alien girls with their tinsel bobbed hair.Thanks for bringing back that memory!

For some reason, I'm always struck by the amount of smoking that goes on in the show - and this was a kids TV show. It was always quite a dark programme like others have said - a fine tribute.

Excellenttt As a first hand fan of the serie, I cannot but bow before this render, awesome haircut and you did catch up the feel of Shado Headquarters... The only thing that really miss is a proper morph on Ed Bishop face - Would me try to do one for you... ?
