I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Superbly composed, and I agree: a lot of "woo-hoo" does nothing. Pointing out room for improvement should be the encouragement we all need, but here at Rero it's not always the case. I like the low light and shadiness, but maybe it's in TG2's genes to produce a sort of graininess in the illuminated haze. It's happened to me, too and I don't know how to get around it. If you find the answer, please share it!

cool image. long time since i did terragen. did you do this all within terragen, or is it a multi-composite?
choronr
@georgedvore: This image was created 100% with Terragen 2 Deep software by Planetside. The source of the models of vegetation and the Log Cabin are mentioned in my gallery (the previous posting).

Amazing Bob! Just those few changes have created a more dramatic(and I think more realistic)effect! Excellent work!
