Description

It's late Autumn again, and most of the leaves are off the trees now, the Samhain Celebrations and Ceremonies are over. Quiet settles into the deep forest glades. But there's still a few leaves to clean up, and some of the Wee Folk are busy doing just that. The Dragon Fly Fae are always busy, and sometimes the Wood Fae help. Little Deer Mouse has popped her head out from her home to see if perhaps Good Lady will give her the leaves to add to her nest. The Good Lady in the red cloak is from Faestock, at Deviant Art, and damn, I hope the artists from these other sites don't get angry because the urls to their work can no longer be posted. I would be royally pissed if I put stock out there and was not properly credited. The Wood Fae is by Fadewillow, and I think I found him in free stuff here at Rendo. The background photo is by our own Neoexcello. She sent me some wonderful photos from way far away on the opposite side of our country! So it's not a scene from the Hollow on the Eastern side of the country, but from the deep forests on the western side of the country. Thank you d'Nise .. it's fun going somewhere new! Well, this time I have a really good excuse why I'm still so far behind on the galleries. It's been decided to rip apart the bathroom and install a new shower. It looks like the work will be way more extensive then planned. It's been decided that we will do it ourselves. I may be absent a lot as I'm the designated go-fer and clean-up person. Sigh. So, I will try .. but there's no guarantees I will ever catch up, or ever have a finished bathroom, LOL. Thank you all so very much for continued support despite my lateness in getting to see all your beautiful work. Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments on the previous post, and all the faves as well. You guys are the best!

good luck re doing your bathroom... I use to do remodeling for a living... times have changed. I need to retile my bathroom floor. the previous owner put tile strait on top of lynolium - ya can't do that = if ya want it to last. They didn't fix the floor squeek unter the tile either - ya can't do that or the tile and the grout will crack. The previous own tiled around the toilit instead of pulling the toilet - we replaced our toilet and have a big empty space where the old toilt was. I'm aiming at January to do the bathroom. christmas is too close and with surgery monday, you can forget about me bending at least until the start of Dec. ...If you're unsure about anything you're doing in the bathroom ask the people you're buying the stuff from (home depot?)... If you are doing tile, do it right and it will last a long time - ya do it wrong and with in the year you'll be fixing it. ....I like this character's red and blue outfit, made me think of that famous picture of Jesus praying on a rock and looking into the sky.

I think I wrote in Cathy's gallery (novelist) that when we all die, we'll be confronted with all the images we never commented on, on RR, and a huge artist will stand over us---2000 feet high---and hand us a mouse & keyboard, and shout: GET TO WORK! We won't be allowed to go anywhere---I'm talkin' heaven, hell, Cleveland, whatever, until we do all our comments. (Do I sound a little worked up about this?) And it'll also shout: "FAV'S? YOU'RE NOT GONNA FAV THAT IMAGE???" I've also had a nightmare where all the artists i neglected (when I was gone) broke into my apt with pitchforks and one of those huge logs they use to break into Frankenstein's laboratory, screaming and demanding "comments! comments! get him! get him!"---then I wake up. So I understand not being able to catch up! I do representative images, after an absence, and that's all one can do---esp if one leaves the long & thoughtful comments that you leave. (I think there's an island where all RR people who've fallen behind go for rehab: They arrive shaking & withdrawn, but they leave whole again, with golden rays emanating from their heads...Truly don't worry about catching up: Major house repair is like pulling up the whole universe. I'm sure your fans understand.) (In the meantime, I'm preparing a lawsuit...ha ha ha, not funny Mark...) About your image: You always do wonderfully photographic things with Mixed Media. The mushroom, the moss, the leaves, the mouse...all blended-in seamlessly. I agree with Mike that the woman in this image has a slightly christ-like appearance, partly from her gentility, but also from her very Renaissance-like gown (the folds suggest the contours, lights & shade you found in the 1500s and 1600's). A nice choice for the pastoral scene you've created. Also, she may be cleaning leaves 'off' the mushroom, but she also seems to be putting them 'on' it, as if in tribute. The image feels that way, like an offering. And you handled the background very well, with soft focus and the woodfae, who gently blends into the scene rather than standing out from it. I wish you luck, Rita! I've cleaned up a lot of spaces in my time, and all I can say is, if it were as pleasant as this scene is, I'd tear my place apart once a week. Very gentle & peaceful scene; and I wish you all the best with your redecoration!

Oh Look! I knew you could do something wonderful with this. I'm amazed how that lovely lady pops right out of the screen....cggft46....see!!! and uses the keys like stepping stones to climb back up! I love it...you make fun. Absolutely seemless construction....you've developed such a skill with these! Really, I'm not just fluffing your feathers! It's technically exquisite....oh, and pretty too! oooh, almost forgot to send....interupted this to go answer your email....I'm so scattered!

Great update on the goings on in the Hollow. I am sure that the "Gentry" are relaxing now after all the celebrations. Your images have the distinct quality of appearing quite natural, the fantasy blends in so artfully that one must take a second glance to realize that it isn't a real photo. Marvelous work Rita!!!!! Oh, and lots of good luck with your bathroom renovations. I am sure it will be as perfect as your graphic work!

A beautiful little woodland scene and I can see that you are going to have to call on your friendly elves and fairies to help with your bathroom. Also Murphy and B-dog would love to help too. They would add the artistic finish to the paintwork.... I hope all goes well with the bathroom.

Adorable idea. I hope the bathroom redo goes smoothly.. they have a nasty habit of needing structural work as water wreaks havoc with the wood. hugs
