I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/ÂÂ

The effects look really good to me...as does the overall scene...very well done!

Nice! The only thing off are those little yellow sprinkles... too grainy. Maybe blur that layer?

Excellent models and a great scene even if you think it needs more work. };-)
Timbo1138
Very nice work

Yeah, it looks like game over for the intruder. Ejection seats aren't much good in space.... I'd say the effects here are pretty darn awesome! All 37 layers worth! Trying to realize an explosion in space is kind of a bugger for sure.... With no gravity or atmosphere to provide resistance, stuff would go everywhere, and that's on top of any forward momentum of the ship. I think you've pulled it off quite well, my friend!

DUDE YOU MAKE IT SO FKING GOOD!

WOW, I think it's a fantastic scene! And the effects are awesome! Corrie

remember, you are in space so there is no air to flare the flame of the explosion. Explosions will be minimal--as they rupture the hull, they will be snuffed by the vacuum.

SPLENDID effects ! Great battle SF scene !!!

Outstanding battle scape!!! Fantastic view!!!

Don't worry so much, your pic is really beautiful. The small size of the two attackers show their power better, and the explosion is awesome, for sure! And its bright colors jump to the eyes above all those sepia and bray tones. Well done!

wowww real cool action render

I think you dissatisfaction is more due to your weariness at the time, rather than to any defect in the results. It looks excellent to me. Think the attacking ships are fine where they are. Being closer wouldn't appreciably improve anything to my mind. Bet if you'd stored this on your computer for three months, then pulled up and looked at it, you'd say something like; "God, I'm good!" heh.
Death_at_Midnight
Very nicely done!

A seriously cool scene! Glad I found you.

I agree that your sense of dissatisfaction might be more an artifact of time than any flaw in this image. This is a stunning image and I like those spherical guys in the background...they're very much something I'd get into in a massive way. As always, your whole piece works well, and I'm always taken by your backgrounds, the ambient environment of your space scenes. So much better than Star Wars! I love the explosion effect. I don't see a problem with it, though I will say that due to the fact that this is taking place IN space, it might be kinda cool to see a few bits of superheated shrapnel flying out, particularly in the ship's direction of travel. The whole idea of that in and of itself adds a bit of extra oomph to this picture since the round guys are shooting the blowing-up guy from behind. VERY SMART!!! EXTREMELY SMART since he's already heading away from them. You never wanna shoot an opponent head on in the vacuum of space, after all, because if you do, you suddenly have THOUSANDS of aggressive targets heading at you rather than just one. Your seriously cool guys shooting the not so happy guy seem fully aware of that and that's what I love...implication. So, all in all, this image rocks. I'm off to go help Corey so I'll be on line to catch up a bit later. But I have to say that this scene rocks and I'd LOVE to know the story behind it; and be warned, I might want to WRITE one! Your stuff always makes me want to write. Great work here. I love it. And though the ship in front is in the process of becoming a debris field, I like it a lot! The ones shooting it are even better whether they're ships or drones. They're way cool.

STOP! When you lose sight of how good a thing you're creating, back off. Chip has eloquently expressed how good this is - believe him.

the English language has not enough words to describe this image I could do it in Dutch.. but you might not understand without the universal translator It is Helemaal te gesh !
