Description

"If you are certain, that you are ready, you may now, try and catch me, if...you can." The young woman called down across the courtyard, sitting pretty, waiting for the games to begin. Princess Rose, looked down, rather bored playing with her pet Coco, sitting upon one of the many watch towers, egging on the next who would step forward for the challenge. Her father's wealth was vast, and would not pass on to just any man, no. The man who took his daughter's hand in marriage, and thus, inherited all of his kingdom, had to be a special type of man. "Aye - I will catch thee - and have thee as well!" Lord Wentworth shouted back across the vast courting yard, his mocking target in sight above him. "I feel it is fair that I should let you know, many have come before you, neither successful, as you can see; give up now, spare yourself." She tried to warn him, turning to her pet bird, she grinned, "When will they learn? And better yet, when shall there be one, who proves himself worthy?" Her father had not made the challenge easy, and neither would she. There were many corridors, trap doors, moving walls, tunnels, nooks and crannys, and she knew them all. This test would assure that the man who did achieve the prize would carry the attributes of one who is cunning, clever, determined and tenacious in catching her. And thus, catching her, was just the first step. There were three other tests of honor as well, no man, had yet made it to the second. "Your father is a man wise to sift out those who are weak." He shouted up, taking in the surroundings, thinking his strategy out carefully, time was not on his side. "Em, yes - his words to a degree." And to her bird she asked, "Tell me, have we grown bored with the game, perhaps I shall give in and have it done already? Hmmm, easy or have fun and make him work the hardest of them all?" "Ack - hardest, work hardest!" Laughing out, Princess Rose hopped down, looked over the balustrade shouting down, "The contest lasts two days, you may give up at any time!" "Run Princess Rose, run with all your being and know this, in two days all will know me as the successor of step one! For this night before the sun sets, you will be mine! And know this Princess, you as well, may give up - at any time!" He declared. His boldness stopped her, bringing a sneaky smile to her face where she turned, and laughed out loud, "We shall see! Catch me - if you can!" And they were off...
