Description

UF5/PSP Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are always appreciated. Today's image is a reworking of one from a few months ago. The focus on this one is bringing about the 3D effect achieved in the center of the image. I found by accident if i move back a few feet from the monitor screen the 3D effect is far more pronounced. Due to shadowing and lighting changes the objects in the foregrond appear to be quite abit infront of the blue background. LOL I know to many folks it would seem silly to spend hours trying to achieve this when a program like MB3d can give depth from the first try, But for me the ongoing learning to use UF5 is a challange as well as a hobby. I envy the folks like Len and Corrie that are able to shift effortlessly between several programs, with spectacular result. In time when i feel I know Ultra Fractal enough to consider myself profiecent at it, I will happily start one of the other programs. Not working today as I have to take my wife for a CT scan this morning. The closest town with a CT is 2 hours away, i hope the doc doesn't say she needs a MRI next, that is a 6 hour drive from here. Well, you are doing brilliantly as far as I can see, for I am enjoying your posts very much Jim. I wish your wife all the best today and hope it does not entail the 6 hour drive as well. I forget how absolutely vast your Country is.

Super work, you are correct it's light and shadow, the details are always there it's getting the light to strike at the correct angle to pull them out that's tricky. If I waited to master an app before trying others I'd still be using only FE, just a couple days ago I discovered a function in FE I never knew was there before. Apo still baffles the hell out of me, MB3D has possibilities I haven't even thought of yet, each different app teaches you to be more proficient with the other. Peace

Great job on this one Jim, and your right about moving back from the monitor to enhance the 3D effect. Sorry to hear about your wife, I'll put her in my prayers this morning.

Beautiful work, it would be nice to add the link or even the photo so we could see what we are comparing it to, but well since you didn't I will have to just go exploring your gallery.. awww rats haha.. I hate to be critical but I am going to give my suggestion, and that would be less framing what I mean is a more narrow frame. (forgive me I am on first cup of coffee so probably not making sense.) but the frame seems to almost over take the artwork. okay that said time to explore. :)

Great image, but I agree with Lynell that the frame around the fractal is a bit heavy

Great depth! I hope you and your wife don't need to go on the 6 hour trip! Thanks for the compliment. :-) It's just that I like to fiddle around (Or mess around. LOL) with a lot of programs. I am a very curious (nosy......) person, that's why. ;-D Corrie

I like this, maybe a bit lighter on the color to show more depth? Hope it's nothing major with your wife.

When I look, I see you looking through a keyhole, to improve constantly study what you can get to see in the distance. Increasingly discovering, that's good. In my mind I ride along with you both, hoping it will go prosperous.

I see the effect you are talking about and I like it. It is a bit like those 3D stereographic pictures where once you find the image it just pops out at you. Now that I see the depth effect in your rendering, the spiral structures in front seem to just float out of the screen. As for UF, I don't know if proficiency is achievable. When the greatest minds available in this field, are always adding new toys, I wonder if we can ever catch up. Meanwhile, I am always delighted to see what you have waiting in the wings.

An excellent fractal with a lovely depth to it. I too love the challenge of making my own work even if it doesn't always turn out. I hope the scan goes well.
