Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

well, on "Still Life" I hope that only refers to the picture, because you're as vital as can be. (Though mystically, "still" means peace at the center of the heart, which is a good thing to have at any age.) A fine b&w, bill, with the light opening up as we move towards the opening of the stall. I like that you didn't make-over any of the shadow: This beautiful old vehicle should be allowed to shine in the dark all it wants. I'm a lover of b&w, and this points out some of the reasons why---ie, it's ability to emphasize light & the mystery of shadow, as well as the beautiful line & detail of everything in its sight. And your angle, where "The Bain" seems to be tilted towards us, emphasizes the weight and rickety quality of this old beauty, and makes it seem more 'human'. Nice detail on the surrounding wood & hay. And the light at the 'door' is wonderful. Happy Birthday, Bill, you WILL get something from me! I wish you many, many more. (So this what you & tara get around on, huh! Call me crazy, but I thought you had a car. But hey, I could be wrong....And, like, does Mandy mind pulling this thing? I think there are laws against that, but hey, whatever gets her going in the morning!) (Ok dumb joke...but you know, I'm not sure what this vehicle even 'is'---it looks like it could transport feed, food stuffs & other cargo, as well as people. It's beautiful, whatever it is. More delightful b&w work, Bill, and happy birthday once more!)

So cool, Bill! B&W is absolutely perfect for this. What a classic look it has! Most excellent!

The light really does make so much of this stand out. It's a perfect shot. Being a car guy, I can look at this and imagine in some way that stuff like this is where it all started. I really like this a lot. You do quite nice black and white. Great stuff.
