Fantastic picture! I love the detail! One thought behind the "glass slipper" is that in the 1700s, some slippers (also called so for men, when worn for dancing) did have glass heels! Like most questionable clothing, it didn't make any sense, but made a fashion statement! (Can you imagine trying for traction dancing a waltz - or a minuet - with glass heels?)
