Description

The Boeing plant in Everett, Washington is recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest building by volume in the world. Please zoom the pano...the main plant is on the left, paint shops just to the right and about twenty five 787 Dreamliners parked off to the right (along with some 747s and 777s also awaiting delivery to the customers who have ordered them). OK...the volume of the building is 472 million cubic feet (13.3 million cubic meters). A few of us just can't stand not knowing the numbers! Lol The main plant has six hangar doors each 82 feet high and ranging in width between 300 and 350 feet each. They are decorated with the largest mural of digital graphics in the world. There are 30,000 people working in the Boeing factory at Everett in three shifts of 10,000 each. A factory tour is a real eye-opener. If you ever get to Seattle, call me and I'll be happy to go with you on a 1 1/2 hour tour:) [Better tell you, tune up your memory...no cameras or cell phones are allowed in the plant] Bill:) P.S. Way off on the right end of the pano you will see the Paine Field control tower canted over at unique angle exceeding that of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Decided to leave this as is just for grins. It leans as a result of assembling my pano in Photoshop's perspective mode. "Still Life" thumb_2132102.jpg

This puts a lot into perspective - the support and space needed to manufacture the aircraft. Well done on the pano and the info, Clive

What a fantastic pano! That's an amazing place ... each of those blue doors is the size of a football field. I'm glad you got the planes in as well as the buildings. Excellent work!

Awesome pano Bill and seemless too. I see what you mean with the leaning tower. It does not distract from the final scene. So well done. Dana

Man! That's one hellova panorama, Bill! Excellent job on this! I would have been very surprised if they would have allowed cameras in there. Cameras and cells are prohibited where I work, too, but we get away with our cell phones because we use them a lot to do our jobs. I guess if one has a photographic memory, they have to check thier head at the security desk.. LOL! Excellent work, and facinating info. If I ever get up your way, I'll definitely put it on the intenerary!

Pano and a half mate! Will not be applying for a janitors job any time soon, you'd need a BIG broom in that place. The leaning control tower is a nice leave, but I wouldn't have metioned it, see how many noticed.
