Description
This is an interval in my Autumn Symphony series to shout: Happy Birthday, Flavia! She was born on November 12th. A real Scorpio with a streak of Leo. Her year of birth is currently a very sensitive piece of intelligence....
Anyway, I took this photo of her in the 1980s when we amused ourselves playing the fashion photograper and the top model. I am Flavia's only authorized photographer, since she believes she isn't photogenic and shies off other people's attempts (passport photos excluded). This was the terrace of the house of a friend of ours. At that time, however, on fine days we used to take some bags full of clothes, and go to a number of locations, from parks to urban settings and changed clothes, playing the members of the fashion circus. Usually people around were very curious, but they never believed us when we told them it was a joke. They thought we were members of some candid camera TV crew, and acted in the strangest ways. LOL!
The original photo was made with a Pentax K 1000, but I didn't know where the negative was, so I re-photographed the positive with the Panasonic, instead of scanning it.

What a fantastic shot! Geez! I've been missing out on too much! But I'm glad I'm starting to slowly catch up. I couldn't resist commenting on this photograph first, especially since I get to catch a glimpse of the woman behind the epic (just check out her gallery and you'll see--and read--what I'm talking about.) I love the way you present this--the original capture is undoubtedly flawless, and I love what you've done to it here. And yeah...I actually like photographing photographs rather than scanning them. I don't know why, there's just something more "organic" in that process. Well, that's how I feel about it anyway, though I'm not really certain why. At any rate, you've done marvelous work here. I love the elegance, the sense of Old World dignity, and the incredible and vibrant sense of warmth. Yeah, this is superb, and as always, I love the additional information in your text. Scorpio with a streak of Leo...now THAT is a wonderful combination...well, since I'm a Leo, I'm obligated to say that, it's in my zodiological contract, you know. :-) I love this piece, and happy belated birthday Flavia! Oh, and are those rose petals down by her foot? And what a cool outfit!

I saw this gorgeous image before, meant to come back and comment, and now I am, though much later than I intended. Beautiful and classy portrait and model. I love the stylized look of it. As Mark said, it looks like something from the forties. And like the best fashion magazines it not only shows fashion, but sets a mood. I love the pastel colors with bits of dark shades and those wonderful red shoes. Excellent color and texture of the wall! It was funny reading what you did. I'd love to have seen some of the reactions and I'd love to see some more shots from these excursions. Stunning image!
