Description

There's something so compelling about this view; it reminds me of some kind of ancient underground river. Perhaps it's the only way of escaping some terrible fate. Or maybe it's just under the pier; whatever it is, you can choose to stay or take your chances.

That you may call a pretty perspective!

Stellar POV, perspective, contrast, and texture in this under-the-pier shot, M! I suppose it all depends how deep and powerful the water is in determining whether I stay or not. It could be like the Colorado River rapids.

What a great POV and PW on this. Love when I scroll down and the waves follow.

Looks like there's a way out ... but it might be a rough trip! Excellent pov, though. Fascinating!

Fantastic shut from under the pier. Love the way you captured the waves and the postwork on the pilings. Dana

LOL @ Andrea...I just got the thought of chocolate covered surfers...which makes me wonder how many licks it takes to get to...oh never mind! I love this picture. When I first saw the thumbnail, I actually thought it was water flowing DOWN something, like stairs...it's just the way your vanishing perspective thing, under the pier, frames the water so nicely and sparks all sorts of wild (or not so wild) imaginings. The details are really great and this is one of those pictures I can spend hours exploring. That's never a bad thing. Great sense of color as well, but then you always do such brilliant things with color so that isn't surprising. As I look at this again, I'm reminded of the temple at Karnak...okay, ancient Egyptians didn't build this, but the pier supports resemble those columns and the narrowed view to the outward sea is just quite...I don't know...primordial? I guess that could be it...there's something ancient in the way this image strikes me, and well...that's almost as yummy as chocolate coated surfers.
