Description

These two images in this collage are inside the VIDEO Please come see my NEW TERRAGEN VIDEO The Day of the Rising Waters with over 40 render, each render rising 50 ft each time. "It's very difficult for somebody living in the united States to grasp the fact that if the sea level rises just a few feet, a whole nation will disappear." The seven million inhabitants of the Pacific Islands have already experienced the first effects of global warming. Elevated water temperatures, violent storms and rising sea levels are beginning to destroy delicate ecosystems, forcing islanders to consider leaving their homes and communities. Cultures that have thrived for centuries are threatened with extinction. Tracing the impacts of climate change from the tropical Pacific to the island of Manhattan, RISING WATERS: GLOBAL WARMING AND THE FATE OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS examines international policies and the lives of those most urgently affected by the global warming debate. Merci Magik

I will have to check out the video later. My computer is giving me major headaches tonight. I will try to remember to come back and see it, as it is a subject I am interested in. Almost 30 years ago, I saw a NOVA show called "Goodbye Louisiana" "Goodbye Louisiana: NOVA reports on the staggering water problems of Southern Louisiana—where the mighty Mississippi is threatening to change its course, and where last year 49 square miles of coastline disappeared into the Gulf of Mexico. Original broadcast date: 11/03/82" They had projections on the show about what the coastline would look like if the ocean levels rose. Lake Charles, where my mom lives, is about 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. In some scenarios it could become a coastal city. South Louisiana is very effected by rising water and many there are very aware of it and have been for sometime. Others see what they want to see. It is very true that people who don't live near the coast can be ignorant of the dangers. And the United States has a very large interior. Excellent images and important issue!
