My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

Aha! I see they have the automatic aim system turned on - the gun barrel automatically adjusts as the vehicle moves. So, down she goes and up goes the barrel, saving it from damage. This kind of demonstration is rather rought on engine, transmission and suspension. The German army of WWII disaproved of this kind of driving, but it was used for propaganda purposes. Howerver, this modern type of tank takes it better than the WWII types. Nice shot of the upper surfaces of the tank. The extended turret rear contains the ammo and has blow-out hatches on the top in case of a hit, thus saving the tank from being blown up. There's an armoured wall between the ammo and the foreward part of the turret to protect the crew. Automatic or manual loading. It looks like you have a fast camera to get the "up" and then the "down", considering the tank's moving fast. Good going with this series of photos!

They're really putting it through its paces! Great action capture!

I wondered how sharp a "V" it could go into before the front end just dug in and stopped the tank, but in this exact position you've captured I can see there is a lot of front tread exposed ready to ride up a pretty steep oncoming grade!

Stunning capture again

Sad to see this series end Clive. The aircraft and armor photos have been amazing. Dana
