My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I have loved finished wood ever since, at the age of six, I was awakened early in the morning by my father and his friends working on an addition to our home. They let me help out while I was in my pajamas. An old woodworker's motto is 'Measure twice, cut once.' I like the curve of the staircase. The workmanship is exquisite. I also like the beautiful grain that can be seen where the light hits the stairs. A wonderful image.

Beautiful curves!
babuci
Very invating curve and only our imagination is a limit what we find on top of the stairs. A deep mono is perfect.

I love the feel of finished wood. If I were going down these steps, it would not only be my wonky knees that would lead my hand to keep constant contact with the banister. I'd hope not to me anyone, because I would definitely want to walk down on the left. That's enough about my minor fetishes, this is a wonderful image! Lovely curves, lines, and corners. Beautiful in mono! Excellent POV and light!

Simply delicious, Tara! This is PERFECT for black & white. Wonderful composition, and super detail - you can almost feel the wood railing. You know, between you and Bill, you have me DYING to go back to that courthouse, and spend a couple hours.. Wonderful photo, my friend!

I would have loved to have watched them making the staircase, nice B&W a touch of sepia would have added to it.

This picture bring the sense of running my hand up that long curving walnut railing...and for some reason the texture of the carpeting on the stairs strikes my eye this morning...you've captured the essence of this delightful, antique place. How fortunate we were not to miss this gorgeous old building. Who knew??? :*

That is a beautiful staircase and the carpet really goes well with it too. The B&W really does make the curve stand out beautifully.

Rockin' cool. Love the b/w and the way it curves out of sight. Reminds me of an old movie but I'm not sure which one. Very cool.
