Description

Sure! We'll Finish the Job! ...reads the sign behind the Xerr. In a Washington-state ghost town at the end of August, the Bureau for Paranormal Affairs called in Gotth and Associates because the two agents they'd sent to see about an infestation had barely escaped with their lives--a wizard and a shooter, the usual partner pairing. Ranchers didn't want them to bomb the deserted town because it would send...whatever those things were out to their ranches to look for food. But high school kids had gone missing, and the sherriff had barely escaped. So the problem came to the Bureau's attention. The wizard's force-hits had barely stunned the one creature they'd taken unawares--and then attracted the rest of the pack. Bad idea. Fortunately, the pack was territorial, so they didn't chase the intruders too far. But they were hungry, and they weren't going to stay away from the ranches forever. So the Bureau needed a magus to plug the hole they'd come through and a team to track down and kill the creatures, and they needed soldiers sturdy enough to go mano-a-mano with these horse-sized demonic things--thus Alex and his crew were called in, because they sure could. Mike Kaminski, crazy man that he is, volunteered to be the stalking horse. No armor--he wanted them to be able to smell him, which they clearly have--and besides, Alex's soldiers are real hard to kill. The flash-bang is to blind them while the others come to Mike and beat the crap out of the Xerrs--because that's what Meri, Alex's demon father-in-law, says they are. He'd seen them elsewhere. And while that was going on, Carol would find and close the portal. Don't worry, Alex's soldiers are way, way faster than normal humans. It /probably/ won't catch Mike. Production notes: M4 with my own dialed character; Cyberpunk M4 pants and shirt, with JM's jeans texture and some of ParrotDolphin's Ooh Shiny materials on the shirt; Stonemason's Ruined city set; Xerr from DAZ3D. Hair, muzzleflash, smoke, and such added in post. Send Advil, we're gonna need it. Thank goodness we're getting paid for this! EDIT: Bigger guns suggested below in comments. I second that motion!

Very good render and story. I don't know if you intended the character to look like Stallone, but if you did, great job!

Wow, love the zoomed version of this, very dynamic! The creature coming out from between the walls is frightening and I'm sure he's glad he's so well armed. :)

Holy Crow, Nan!!! Mike's freakin' awesome as you breathe life into him! Absolutely floored at the little details in this one. Freakin' awesome lighting, and the pose on both Mike and that ooogly are spot on. I can smell the smoke! I have Excedrin-would that help? XD

Yes, a bigger gun is much needed...I suppose you can just throw the gun at the beast when the bullets don't work. : Lovely job. ^^
