Description

While flipping and perusing through my old foto files today, I came across a whole folder of llama shots, that I had forgotten about, captured back on 10/4/06 and 1/9/07 at my local nature center, situated within easy walking distance of my hackneyed hovel. So, after a wee bit of refined postwork, I'm presenting another series of subject matter that you can ponder and ruminate on. I mean, if others can show their pet cats and dogs, I can surely show these guys, even though I don't own them, and will probably show in collage style next time. Better viewed full size. Arreviderci, thankx for looking in, and for any and all laudatory comments and favs.

Great capture Harry and you don't have to own the subject to share a picture, after all we showcase here our way of taking photograps and liking in nature. Wonderful color of the fur and I like the close approach.

I love LLAMAS! My neighbor has one. I don't have the fencing but would love a pair. And then I'd add alpacas. :-) Thanks for this Harry!

a truly splendid shot, Harry. I showed this to a photographer friend who's never shown online (and isn't a member of RR) and he agreed it's a truly splendid shot of a llama. (He photographs animals for some clients & magazines, etc.) (He said, "how can you forget about llama shots??? In LA???" We laughed. I understood his question: You don't see too many llamas in the city of angels, I assume, and I promise you you don't see ANY llamas in Chicago; so it's really great that you put them in a drawer and forgot about them for a while. I have a shot of a hippo that I forgot about, though it wasn't nearly as beautiful as this.) The detail is wonderful, and the expression is wonderful too, where we can even see the gristle and hairs on its nose. The background is faded just enough to be there but not interfere (and it's of just the right hue---if your postwork was involved, fine job Harry). And that shock of blue---its harness maybe?---is just wonderful. Wonderful pic, and I sure didn't expect a llama in your gallery. I was just in florida and got a few lizards, but llamas? No. Beautiful capture.
