Description
This is my 1965 BSA Super Rocket 650 cc motorcycle in 1968. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. It was scanned from an old photo.
This is the motorcycle I rode from San Diego, Ca to Bartlesville, Ok when I got out of the service in Dec 1967. A snow storm a day ahead of me and a snow storm a day behind me. Very, very, very cold...
I looked at a map one day and saw what looked like a straight shot to Dallas, Tx instead of following Hwy 10 that dips down to El Paso, Tx and then back up to Dallas. What did not know was that it was straight up to the top of the mountain to get to Cloudcroft, Nm then miles and miles of national forest before I got to Mayhill, Tx which had a gas station when I gassed up and hugged the pot belly stove, but no motel. I had to go on to Elk, Tx to get to a motel for the night. I thought I was going to freeze to death that day.

I thought BSA meant British Small Arms, but it means Birmingham Small Arms Company. Go to the following link for more information on the motorcycle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BSA_Super_Rocket
