Wow, they are huge. And to think, if you came back in a year, they may have completely moved. Wild!

Fantastic shot, those dunes are huge! Having climbed dunes before, I can't imagine how much work it must have been for those people to get all the way up there, fantastic shot that really captures the scale of them all.

Your hues in this series can be absolutely breathtaking. They are so subtle, they touch us someplace very intimate, very quiet. This has those hues, and the slopes are extremely soft, as are the deep shadows. Some of the great black & white masters did images like this, finding a deep silken music in the slopes of the desert: You've done that in color, yet your subtle hues have the most gentle presence. Gorgeous...you've really given us dunes with great beauty, Mary. (Here is Sebastiao Salgado's version of Namibian dunes: Here. His is in b&w, of course, but he caught a similar sense of light & shade...Yours is gentler, with your peach-reddish-beige tones making the dunes majestic whispers. If you know Salgado, you know he's more known for his captures of migrations & refugees; but his captures of the countryside are beautiful. Here is one of his most famous refugee images, which perhaps you've seen: Here. Just for comparison...)
