Description

'Ice Station' I'm still feeling unwell but I forced myself to upload this piece which I've had kicking around on my Hard-drive for some time. It's pretty mediocre but I thought I'd post it anyway. Thanks for looking. Tony

The scene is magnificent, but it lacks some contracts ... and the bottom of the picture is not really detailed! but I am unable to create image ... superb designs

very well done - I think the lack of contrast adds to the starkness of the world. Very well done

The most important thing is to take care of your health, Tony. But, I'm glad you had the time and energy to post this. It's very well done. Feel better my friend.

The lack of contrast gives a sense of haze and distance to the whole image. I feel it works well. For some reason it makes me think of a 50's or 60's illustration. It has that kind of retro feel. Get better. Phil

Mediocre for you, maybe, but not for the rest of us! I can empathize with how illness can sap the creative spirit. My wife and I have had a bug bothering us for the past week and I have some ongoing serious health issues in addition. Been reduced to doing what you've done above--posting older stuff that I've sat on--usually for good reason. Still, there is much about this one that I like. For one thing, it is a nice, bright contrast to your more usual darkness and gloom postings. I like it.

Great work. Get well soon and make more. BTW have you read "Ice Station" by Mathew Reilly. Very fast action packed novel.

Sorry to hear that you're feeling unwell, Tony. Get well soon, my friend. I would like to echo the comments by geirla and Kier 99 above. This might seem mediocre to you, but to the rest of us it is much more than that. The modeling and the colors of this piece have a definite "retro sci-fi" look, from the age when science and technology were still regarded as good things. Hence, it has a much more cheerful and upbeat feel to it than some of your other, darker works. I find it refreshing and uplifting. Thanks for sharing this, and take care of your health!

Love the sense of scale you've given this, and the lack of contrast previously mentioned gives a sense of this being a warm day in the cold environment. The station design,as well as the ship design,is very believable.Nicely done!
