Description

One of the most famous plaza’s in Holland is the Courtyard (Binnenhof) The Hague where our government reigns On the buildings a lot of Gable stones (Dutch gevelstenen) They’re carved and often colourfully painted stone tablets, which are set into the walls of buildings, usually at about 4 metres from the ground. They serve both to identify and embellish the building. They may also tell us something about its owner. Strange enough, on this government buildings they’re all weird heads. What can tell this about our government? I’ve collected them, here a collage. Did make them rusty with with PSP X2 I hope you like it Thanks for your kind comments, take care, smile and stay creative, you’ll never be bored.

I'll have to agree with Feamike, It does look like a portrait of our Congress and in a year or so the people who voted for them. ;D Great collage and work!

Wonderful collection! I always heard that Gargoyles were used as a representation of evil, and their purpose is to assure that evil stays outside of the church walls. I'm not exactly sure how this relates to these faces on government buildings. And I'm not certain I want to think about it too much . . . This really is a wonderful collection and presentation!
