No photograph can do this tombstone justice.. you have to see it with your own eyes. It is one of the most famous headstones in Calvary Cemetary in St. Louis, MO. If I stare at the picture long enough, it makes me cry. But the flow of the lines of this statue is so compelling; you can feel the sorrow of the angel--and the notion that all hope is lost. It's a very moving monument, yet I don't have a clue as to whose grave it is upon which it sits.

Beautifully done! The black and white only adds to the feeling of utter sorrow.
