Description
Over on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in the Cape Royal area. Looking down through the Angels Window, at about 8,000 feet and seeing the Colorado River, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The difference in elevation is approximately a mile. Photo taken spring 1996.

A good overhead lighting angle really brings out the rough and raw texture of the ridge sides in this splendid capture, Dana. Wouldn't take much to scrape yourself real bad on that surface.

What a great photo and amazing place. I remember being down in the Colorado Canyon and thinking how huge that seemed. I couldn't even see the sides of the Grand!
