Description

I took this a few short weeks ago when green was still the order of the day. It is a small part of Treffrey's Aqua/Viaduct, which during the summer is hardly visible enough through the trees to get a good shot of. I shan't bore you with info on the aqua/viaduct as there is so much about it online for those with an interest. The Leat right of centre is at least 4 metres in width, although from this POV it doesn't look it. The bridge spanning it I put online earlier in the year and that is the way we normally enter the woods. This day, however, I decided to walk the middle path. Barney crossed the bridge, doing much his own thing and after a few minutes realised he was on his own. Instead of going back to the bridge, as is the norm, he ran to the Leat's edge, stopped dead, then without a by-your-leave, he jumped from his side to mine! Needless to say, he made it - just - which was amazing considering he did it without taking a run at it first! I must admit, I stood there in complete shock, as did my son! But this was broken into by his sitting on his butt in front of us and putting his paw in the air begging cheese, presumably because he was convinced jumping the leat was clever! At the risk of repetition, I am very pleased he's insured! ^=^ Thank you for the lovely warm welcome back I've received. I am touched....but that's another story...! ^=^ Thank you also, for taking the time to look. ^=^

This is such a wondrous sight! That's it, I'm going to have to book a doggy holiday cottage near there in some good weather and a different season! SO lovely!

Yay for Barney! A dog after my own heart! What a gorgeous photo! What a gorgeous place; I want to feel it for myself. I can tell that there's more to this place than meets the eye...whole woodlouse colonies probably live there, and if this is an aqua/viaduct, those woodlice probably speak Latin! WOW! Imagine that! Most of all, I love the sheer and shameless sense of peace and gorgeous, dappled light. I love this!
