Description

Source: Wikipedia Wrath (or anger or "Rage") may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system (such as engaging in vigilantism) and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others. The transgressions borne of vengeance are among the most serious, including murder, assault, and in extreme cases, genocide. Wrath is the only sin not necessarily associated with selfishness or self-interest (although one can of course be wrathful for selfish reasons, such as jealousy, closely related to the sin of envy). Dante described vengeance as "love of justice perverted to revenge and spite". In its original form, the sin of wrath also encompassed anger pointed internally rather than externally. Thus suicide was deemed as the ultimate, albeit tragic, expression of wrath directed inwardly, a final rejection of God's gifts. ~*~
A remake of an old image I did last year (which can be found here). I liked the first one a lot, and compared to this one I like it more, but it didn't seem to represent what I thought Wrath was. I wanted rage to be depicted, this time, as something that literally burns you from the inside out. Manifested physically. I made the girl here smoldering and seemingly about ready to crumble to ashes despite her strength, abolished by her own hatred. Under the crackling embers of her face and past the shoulder of her shirt, you see porcelain skin, pale and white and pure - the only remnant of who she was before her rage completely enveloped her. Considering the intentions I had for the image, despite my adoration for the old one, this came out fairly as I expected. I wanted something harsh, and stark, and full of contrast and bombarding shades. *shrug* Not one of my best, but with how I wanted it to be, it came out pretty much like I saw it in my head, and I think that at least deserves a little notoriety. My love to all. Thanks for viewing, comments welcome as always.

Beautiuflly done. Humm...certainly comparing the two you can see more...anger...in the original, but this conveys the feeling very well. Really lovely work!

Wow, this is one wicked powerful image. How you have flame color along the cracks in her face really puts the message of burning with rage, spite, jealousy, right in your face. Intense work, well done. I like this version better. It is more direct.
