Description

I made this one for a friend as a desktop image. I am posting it here for your comments on improving the lighting and any other features that may need changing. I am working on improving the lighting without the need for the Reality. I have seen some really nice renders with it, but they all seem to have a shiny reflective appearance, so I am working with the basic lighting and some tweaking as it will save me much valuable render time. Your thoughts?

A very nice scene. But as mentioned by bimm3d, the background looks a little bit odd. The colors seem not to match with the front and the lighting there. I would also not cut the human and show him in his full height, so that the shadow of him on the floor can make a good contrast to the shadow of the dragon. So maybe zoom a bit out, for that and take a look if that looks good. Just my thoughts, but it is still a very interesting scene. :)

I haven't had a scene render in Reality yet. Sometimes it just disappears and I am back to Daz window. Agree with the above about the background. You need something more dramatic.

Great pic. I reckon if you add depth of field and maybe some haze in the background it would benefit.

Really a very nicely formed scene. I would, however, have to agree on the previous comments. The mountainside backdrop doesn't look quite right for this. It doesn't look bad, not by any stretch of the imagination, but you might be better off with a wooded setting or just a skyscape. Lighting and shadow work are very nicely done as well. My thought, however, might be to actually zoom IN on the man in the foreground to give him a bit more pressence in the scene. But all in all this is really a nicely done scene.

The background doesnt worry me - I like it - different degrees of shadow due to pactchy cloud, plus it fits with a kind of moutain monastry (?) setting for the builgings. Maybe as suggested slight misting for distance effect? The slight odd and contrasting leanings of the buildings at front right and left worry me more - both seem to lean in toward centr (maybe due to focal lenght/zoom factor?). Def, agree about showing the human's feet/shadow. Also maybe having him look toward the dragon would be nice as at present it seems he doesnt know it is there but has just heard something alarming. The dragon looks like he knows exactly where the man is - scary!

Excellent scene! I love the comosition and you've gotten a lot of good suggestions. So here's one more, lol, increase the bump on the dragon! The he's got just the right amount of sheen to his scales, but they look a little flat to me. OK, my two cents in the pot, lol.

Perfect composition, the left hill is balanced with the dragon wing, the full color match between the background and the front would be too artificial. Leaning buildings are OK - we use camera and the focal length is dictated by the compositional depth. Human figure is OK - it's a choice of the author. I am pretty sure that there is no need for Reality (or even reality..).
