Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Make mine a Margarita please. Kind of reminiscent of the old west. Nice shot. Aloha

Oh dear ... I can't decide! Those pitchers of ice cold water look wonderful, but I don't want to pass up a drink if you're buying! LOL! :) Evocative shot ... well done!

Yes, I'm with Tara, too many choices; guess it'll be my usual, and I have the next round!

I'll just have a hot water. And don't let me sniff the barmaids apron, I'll be out like a light!
GARAGELAND
Looks looks like something Quentin Jerome Tarantino would love to have as a backdrop for a cool movie.

See what the boys in the backroom will have, And tell them I'm having the same. Go see what the boys in the backroom will have, And give them the poison they name. And when I die, don't spend my money On flowers and my picture in a frame. Just see what the boys in the backroom will have, And tell them I sighed, And tell them I cried, And tell them I died of the same. Marlene Dietrich Cool indoor capture, and another high contrast photo, which is your trademark, Marilyn.

And I’ll have a Mike’s classic margarita traditional lime. Not that I’m fussy or anything like that. Nice shot shooting into the light. Dana

I must admit that I am a heathen when it comes to spirits or wine. I wouldn't know one from the other. My poison is beer!

That is what i call a well stocked bar. Your captures are always second to none.

So, how was the drive home:-))) Like the lighting. This is a "Marilyn image"...not the booze...but the postwork:) Went to Google and had to see the old stagecoach road...in those days there was no straight path in hills and mountains was there...

One Tequila...Two Tequila...Tree Tequila .....floor!...lol.. My wife runs a weekend bar at an old settlement called LakeHouse Inn and it's amazing the decor that is in there dating back to the 1800's.. Nice Capture! -=Will=-

The Most Interesting Man in the World....What Irish Whisky did I buy? I think I've been watching to many commercials lately, lol. Aloha

This is one of those shots that makes me think of the bar U Sudu in Prague...I virtually lived there. Well...I lived upstairs from there! It had that same welcoming darkness and shiny glass...and I love that vibe especially in this as well as it's interesting history as a stagecoach stop! WOW! This shot rocks...well...it's not rocking yet as you apparently took this before libations commenced. And hey, if you're buying...I'll have...oh, whatever the bartender grabs first: Vodka maybe, Jack Daniels and a beer chaser...yeah, that'll work for starters.

great to read the comments here, everybody has something to say about an old beautiful bar like this. A few people think this is a real 'marilyn' shot, and I agree (although there are many types of marilyn shots, to be sure). What's wonderful about it is the ton of glass & colors on the bottles, etc, all surrounded by that beautiful dark wood, and then blasted through with that beautiful light from the window---which is saturated & which spills into the room like a big revelation. Beautiful contrasts the deep dark feeling one gets when entering an establishment that wants people to feel they're at home away from home: Ie, a public place for private reverie. Beautiful shot Marilyn, and always great to see your interiors after so many big broad & sweeping exteriors.
