Description

I knocked this scene up as an experiment. Built originally in C4D 11.5, with all the toys thrown at it [GI, Caustics, 16x AA etc], then rendered - it took 5hrs 49mins. I then rendered again, with no differences, in C4D 12 [inc update] - it took 9hrs 51mins ! What gives? I think I'll be sticking with 11.5 for the mo... Comments / insight welcomed.

The way I see them on my screen, the R12 version is crispier, clearer, more realistic like a photograph yet better. The shadow is deeper. I would love to see another comparison. :) Beautiful renders though!

Agreed with julesart; the R12 render looks like glass with metal accents and top, while the 11.5 looks more like plastic with chromed plastic parts. The letters are more visible on the backside in the R12 render above the surface of the cologne; I couldn't even see that on the other one until I looked at the full sized image here.

Is the difference around £500? ;) I'm sticking with R11.1

Yes, looks better in version12! It is hard to get real glass in C4D without VrayRenderer. Looks most like plastik. But this work i like! In some situations C4D with Vray is faster and has better realistic results in Renderings. Best regards Kalle!
