Bless this food we are about to receive .. amen.
There's going to be a lot of eating and feasting and family and friends stuff going on tomorrow all across the States, and I wanted to wish you all a Happy, Safe, and Joyous Thanksgiving.
And I wanted to thank you all .. no matter where you are, or where you live, or what nationality you are, for all the support and friendship you've given me in the time I've been here. This is one of the best groups ever! Thank you.
I'll try to be around to do a little catching up tonight.
Thank you all for the terrific response to my very late Birthday greeting to Stacey, LOL, who's birthday was October 22, but hey, better late then never, right? I have no idea where I got November from!

Wonderful capture and motif, Rita. And happy thanksgiving, whenever that is or was. :) A reminder that mother nature feed us... Also a reminder that we need to give something back. In Denmark we have 10-15 inches of snow these days. Many wildlife birds and mammals have a hard time finding food in the snow. Thats where humans is important. So remember to put a little something out now and then to keep you keep your local wildlife alive.:) No idea if it snows in the states atm.. doesn't look like it on your photo.

First, on getting bdays late---I'm the master of that, so don't even try to compete. It's wonderful that you do these dedis, they're a joy. As for the image, it's a fine photograph, Rita, and a fine closeup of a very difficult-to-capture animal---the squirrel. A fine capture of it, bent over & eating. You know, in my travels through the parks in Chicago, I'm always amazed at how acculturated squirrels are to people: They've been fed enough that they'll walk up to you, stare, then jump away, then look back at you, then jump away, etc. A dance of hoping, running, hoping, running, etc. These animals live a life that humans would consider horrible: Outside all the time, scrounging for whatever food they can find, living in terror of larger animals, and spending so much of their time running for shelter to keep alive. So we can learn a lot from them. This squirrel is beautifully seen on a fence of similar hue, with that arrow element behind it like a protector. And you give a fine reminder that Thanksgiving is about remembering the gift of food & shelter with loved ones, not just about eating itself. (And a remembrance of people who inhabited this land long before our ancestors.) And after all, it's connected with end-of-autumn harvest, which transcends the current holiday and goes back to ancient roots. A very fine sentiment, and a fine photo of one of our commonest animal sin the act of eating. Hope your holiday was blessed too, Rita.
