Description

The first snow of the new winter is falling in NL. Just in time for Sinterklaas.. (5 / 6 december) A popular event in Western Europe
Still sad that no Sinterklaas clothing is created by those who try to sell things here and at Daz3d.

Very cool scene, and good attempt at depicting a celebrated seasonal event. Even though I'm not quite sure what Sinterklas is or means ;)

Sinterklaas (also called Sint Nicolaas, de Goedheiligman or simply de Sint in Dutch and Saint Nicolas in French) is a traditional Winter holiday figure in the Netherlands, Belgium, Aruba, Suriname and Netherlands Antilles; he is celebrated annually on Saint Nicholas' eve (5 December) or, in Belgium, on the morning of 6 December. The feast celebrates the name day of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of Amsterdam, children and sailors. He is the basis of the mythical holiday figure of Santa Claus in the United States. Saint Nicholas is also celebrated in the traditionally Germanic parts of France (Nord-Pas de Calais, Alsace, Lorraine), as well as in Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and in the town of Trieste and in Eastern Friuli in Italy. Additionally, many Roman Catholics of Alsatian and Lotharingian descent in Cincinnati, Ohio, celebrate "Saint Nicholas Day" on the morning of 6 December. The traditions differ from country to country

Your description of Sinterklaas is far better then mine! I found out he was a pope like figure with a beard and hung around with a couple of ethnic Umpa Lumbas! Glad you cleared that up! This is a great snowy scene! The tall model should help decorate the tree in town!

And all that's missing is Sinterklaas. A beautiful scene, you make snow so wonderfully real! We had some snow today, the first that has stayed on the ground. Just a dusting, but we are promised to have more tonight .. about 8 to about 30 centimeters .. I think that's right.
