Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

First off, let me say that when I first saw your avatar (last night, but I couldn't comment) I thought...WOW! Who's that dangerously talented concert violinist/pianist/cellist? That's one impressive avatar/icon! The fact it made me think of a musician/composer is high praise coming from a music-lover like me. And to top it off, you've presented some really amazingly great works to go with it. Okay, that's not a big surprise for me...I mean, just look at your gallery, its more than just "pretty pictures" and so it's not a surprise that your avatar/icon would show something of the mind behind the photos like this one. And WOW! What a scene. I love the frikkin' amazing range of colors and reflection/absorption levels; this photograph a dream for geologists (or geology loving science fiction writers...just picture me sitting here, drooling and going: "WOW! Willya look at those strata!!! Holy cow, there are--what?--at least five different light refraction indexes in this one picture! Holy cow! I'll bet there are all sorts of interesting crystalline substrates and downright gorgeous weathering patterns," and I love the way you've captured it. This rocks...okay...that's a potentially horrendous pun, but there you have it. Now, I'm gonna take a deep breath, a rest, and a bit later (when I'm sufficiently coherent) I'll comment on another of your recent posts I've missed.

Hi Dana! Love the pics of the Grand Canyon...haven't been to see this one, but we have seen the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific' on Kauai while on our honeymoon. Spectacular sight! I was hoping that you and your wife and Mike and I would be able to meet up sometime before you headed back south...but perhaps next year! Time just flies SOOO quickly! Hope you both have a safe trip and enjoy the warmth in Florida!!!
