Description

It was at an outdoor event on Sunday that I spotted these on the arm of a young lady sitting in the row behind me. Rather than being caught sneaking a shot of her arm, I waited until everyone was leaving and plucked up the courage to ask if I may. The result was a yes, though it was evident from her pose that she was not that comfortable. I took one shot, showed it to her and thanked her. Given the stiffness of her arm and clenched fist, I decided to play with it in Photoshop. I created a new layer, converting the background to B&W, altering the gradient. It gave her skin a glow without losing too much detail. On the duplicated layer I used a process of lasso selection/eraser/history brush to remove all but the bracelets. Contrast and vibrancy added a bit of punch to the colours. It took me a while to manipulate last night. It was a learning curve on many levels - courage, technique and using my neglected graphic tablet. The bottom line… I have enjoyed it all! Thanks for reading and have a fun weekend, Clive

Outstanding Clive...between you and Arthur, I've almost got up the energy to try a color-popping shot myself...I'll go see what I've got to play with.

What a great shot of a wonderful assortment of bracelets. I also wear a number of bracelets, but not quite this many. I suppose I would if I got up the courage, LOL. Love the black and white surrounding that makes the colors in the bracelets pop nicely.
