It's a real life insect. He just landed on my garden set a few minutes this summer. It's unusual in the north of France

Excellent capture of a scorpion fly as they often are called. The interesting claw or pincerlike structure which resembles a scorpions tail are the males enlarged genetials! So this is a boy looking for a partner.
