Description
This piper plays and struts his stuff at Gretna Green just over the border from England.
Gretna Green is very famous for eloping couples from England who couldn't get permission from their parents to get married, they came here and gave their wedding vows over an anvil as this was a blacksmiths forge. I actually know couples who have done this. It all happened many years ago.
As you can see he is not very tall!
Also if you go into bmac62s comment you can link to a video of him actually playing.

Great link! I had to google the hands to find out about the Big Dance statue. Excellent image! I knew about Gretna Green from the works of Georgette Heyer, which means I knew it was right over the border and famous for elopements. Beautiful capture of the detail and color of his uniform. He seems like an agreeable person. I like in the video when the woman was creeping up to him a little uncertainly and he stepped to her side so she could get a picture with him. Very interesting post!
