It was ten years ago today. Armed with Poser 4 and Victoria 1, I posted my first gallery image. (It's still there in my gallery!) I wanted to demonstrate motion blur, which was kind of a "gee whiz" effect at the time. The "details" of the image, though, left a bit to be desired. The picture was of Victoria, dressed in a purple bikini top and a skirt, running away from a large robot. (If that doesn't sound arbitrary enough...) The bigger problem is that they were running through a really bizarre looking corridor, or something. And most of all, there was a bogus shadow on the wall that totally breaks the illusion. So, I have decided to mark this anniversary by redoing the picture. Note that most of the improvements were the result of other people's work: better software, better models, better textures. In fact, just about the only thing I've learned in the past ten years is this: don't post an image that still has massive unresolved problems with it. Fix, and if you can't fix, redo. If you can't redo, try a different picture instead. Anyway, I thought you might like to compare a "then and now" of this versus my very first gallery post. I may also redo the other early gallery image of a girl (V1) in glasses sometime soon. I want to thank "efron_241" for giving me the idea. And, oh yeah, did I mention this Vicky was eight and a half feet tall?
