Description

Kestrels hover effortlessly for long periods of time by flying into a light headwind and making continuous small adjustments to its wings and tail while it hangs on an rising draught of air. While hovering, the Kestrels head is kept perfectly still giving it the ability to spot the slightest movements on the ground. When suitable prey is in sight, the Kestrel drops vertically towards the ground, swooping to grab its prey in its talons and killing it with a swift bite. Kestrels can often be found hunting along the sides of roads and motorways. Kestrels also frequently use pylons or telegraph poles as vantage points to spot prey, saving themselves the effort of hovering. Kestrels are bold and have adapted well to human encroachment, nesting in buildings and hunting by major roads.

This image remember me this sweet song: "If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me For I must be traveling on now 'Cause there's too many places I've got to see But if I stayed here with you,GIRL Things just couldn't be the same 'Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you cannot change Ohohohohohhhhh And the bird you cannot change And this bird you cannot change Lord knows I can’t change Bye bye, baby, it's been a sweet love, yeah, yeah Though this feeling I can't change But please don't take it so badly 'Cause Lord knows I'm to blame But if I stay here with you, GIRL Things just couldn't be the same Cause I'm as free as a bird now And this bird you never change Ohohohohohhhhh And the bird you cannot change And this bird you cannot change Lord knows I can't change Lord help me I can't change Lord I can't change, Won't you fly high, Free Bird, yeah" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) (Allen Collins - Ronnie VanZant)

Yes Kestrels are amazing animals. It has been not so lang ago that I spotted them very often, but nowadys they seem to be rare in the country where I live. That's a shame!!
