Description
I mentioned them before.. the (now wild) green parrots than live in my city (as their ancestors escaped from the houses they were kept).
Over time their "great-great grand children" have addapted -since the 1980's- to our climate.. still it is strange to see them in a winterlandscape..
In summer they are high up in the trees.. talking and screaming.. in winter they get closer to the people ... searching for food and warmth (city lights)
There were 10.000s of them yesterday .. all around the lake next to the ancient parlement buildings. These two were pretty close to me.
Lovely birds.. funny birds.. I hope they survive the -15 celcius that we have today in my city, Den Haag / The Hague.. (with a very cold wind)

ik woon ook in Den Haag, maar zo leuk zijn ze soms niet! vlak voor mijn huis staat een grote boom waar ze (vorig jaar weliswaar) allemaal in verzamelden. een lawaai! Maar schattig zijn ze zeker, en ook best fotogeniek, sommige blijven heel netjes zitten en kijken je recht aan :) in ieder geval, mooie foto's! die groene stipjes in de witte stad zijn zeker leuk om te zien.

Amazing! We see some of them here, but it hardly ever gets cold enough to freeze.
