This page contains samples of some of my best artwork and various 3D models to date. Feel free to comment on anything you see here. BIO I have been an artist all my life from sculpting to painting to building ships in bottles I have had a hand in nearly everything. Several years ago I was given a glimpse at what a computer could do when an artist was at the helm. I quickly learned that the way to express myself and bring my visions to life was 3D art. I have a background in printing, graphics communication and advertising design. I became lead modeler at Faultline Studios and worked on illustrations for the card game "Crown of the Emperor". I have worked on several book covers and enjoy bringing ideas to life.
I am now lead graphics artist for RonEd Media and have continued to increase my abilities and portfolio. My goal has been to do illustrations for a sci-fi book, magazine or non-fiction titles on the paranormal. I enjoy creating various images usually sci-fi in nature that center on the darkside or human thought and technology. The many "what ifs" that fill our minds at dark hours and the need to believe in other things that give us hope in dark times. I have learned to use many programs and will likely learn many more to help in telling my stories better. The latest addition to my pallet is Vue 8 Complete and the results are amazing, expect more. I would like to thank Sci-fi channel and Sci-fi weekly for allowing me to share some of my visions with the world " My latest contribution to the 3-D world is the Cydonia model and material sets, a joint project between me and Gill Brooks. You can also find my "Shattered Worlds" sets and materials for Vue and Poser in the market place.

I think it's great! I've attempted such a project before, with nowhere near the results you made. I particularly like the glow of the earth/planet, and the fact that there are few visible stars... Very clean.

Better than any cloud I have created so far!

just out of curiosity.. is that a tree you used for the wake of the asteroid or just a pole with a figidy texture. Good pic.. but i think it looks simple... just my opinion..

I like your textures and the POV, but the transition from flame to smoke seems too sudden. Also, just to be irritatingly picky I'll say that you wouldn't get that kind of smoke - and fire for that matter - coming from the asteroid until it's entered the atmosphere. IMO this would look great if it was shooting down through the clouds - maybe lighting them up as it passes through - rather than skimming by in space. Nice work, though.

Where to start? Mix: If I get it down to a science I'll make a tutorial for it, basicly it's a lot of painting over a rendered background blank in this case I made a masive string of spheres and applied a heavily tweaked fire texture on it, duplicated that and changed it to a volumetric come of fire, rendered then painted till it felt right. EV3: No I tried several ways to create the rough plume even builta 3D smoke trail over in MAX but decided to settle on the spheres and light. tuttle: I tried to make this thing look big, really big, it's entered the upper atmosphere and has begun to burn away its outer crust I wanted it to look very menacing when this one hits there will be no running from it where ever you may be. tricksta: Yes I'll let you know, it's even better in large format. Thanks all:o)
