Description

I love birds, and every day I make sure they have plenty of suet available to them and a mixture of seeds. Now that temps have dropped down into the teens, I'm thinking of buying a heater of some sort that will keep their water from freezing. Anyway, This Nuthatch was being such a HAM for me; Here's one shot I love; I just had to post it. :) Thanks for stopping by - I hope you are all doing well! Shari Thank you for your views comments and Favs on my previous upload: "Autumn Scene" thumb_2138287.jpg

this may not be the prettiest of birds but its and awesome shot Shari. The heater thing is dead easy, go to an Aquarium shop and get the cheapest submersible tank heater you can. Then you just have to make sure the plug is out of the weather.. Set it for the lowest temp it has and it will cost next to nothing to run.

I love this capture too he really is posing for you. Good luck with trying to keep the water from freezing as they drink quite a lot don't they. Maybe you could invent something as I'm sure it would be popular. I could do with that in the winter down here too.

This is such a lovely photo Shari, and I agree with you on how wonderful birds are. The heater problem was already answered it seems, and that is so kind of you.

Beautiful birds! We have tons around here right now and they're eating the suet like crazy! LOVE these little guys. Hmm...I wonder if the fish tank heater would be strong enough to work where the temps are in the teens? Would be interesting to find out! I know that they sell heated birdbaths and also heaters you can put in your birdbath. If no one near you sells them (Don't know where you live, so not sure if you have any Tractor Supply stores, Blue Seal feed stores or even places like Home Depot and Lowes) you could always look online!
